Policy Framework for Children and AIDS, India (pdf 1.1 mb)

This Policy Framework provides operational guidelines for government departments working at all levels for the welfare of children to collaborate, and establishes a mechanism to coordinate the efforts of civil society, NGOs and the private sector in scaling up HIV/AIDS interventions.

It adopts a rights based approach and takes into account recent changes in the global understanding of the adverse impacts of HIV/AIDS on children, and of the best ways to address them, while affirming the need for a universal approach to addressing the needs of all children subjected to social exclusion, neglect and abuse, including those affected by HIV/AIDS.
