Valuing unexpected outcomes: a case study of an Indonesian training project (pdf 100kb)

This brief by Hassall and Associates International's (HAI) Development Impact Group discusses the growing awareness of the value of unexpected outcomes in monitoring and evaluation of development interventions.

Using the Indonesia Australia Specialised Training Project (Phase 3) funded by AusAID and managed by HAI as a case study, this brief explores the potential value of taking more open approaches to monitoring, evaluating, learning and improving.

This brief is part of an ongoing series of knowledge briefs, Impact, published by HAI that aim to document and share ideas and experience on a range of development impact topics.
