Global climate change: can agriculture cope?

This CGIAR research paper looks at the growing challenges farmers and the agricultural sector are facing from the impacts of climate change. It addresses the following key concerns:
- Mapping the menace of global climate change
- Adapting agricultural systems to climate change
- Managing tropical lands to mitigate climate change

The expected impacts, including more frequent and severe drought and flooding, as well as shorter growing seasons are of grave concern to the 15 international research Centres supported by the CGIAR.
