This is a study into Malaysia crop diversification trends. It finds that traditionally horizontal diversification, or the cultivation of an increasing number of crops as opposed to one or two major crops is the practice. However, there is a trend towards vertical diversification, the upstream or downstream activities of a particular crop from farm products through to the finished product.
