Recognition of customary land in the Solomon Islands: status, issues & options (pdf 340kb)
This Working Paper is based on a study undertaken within the AusAID funded Solomon Islands Institutional Strengthening of Land Administration Project (SIISLAP).There are demands from a range of government and community stakeholders for recording customary land and its ownership in the Solomon Islands. It is apparent that the existing acts and procedures are inadequate for recording or enabling efficient registration of customary land.
