Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET)
The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) aims to help aid practitioners and organisations manage the risks and impacts of famine by providing timely early warning and vulnerability information.FEWS NET provides a number of useful services, including:
- Famine and food insecurity alerts
- Monthly reports
- Weather hazard forecasts
- Special thematic, geographic or other specific reports
- Maps and other spatial data
- Livelihood profiles of different areas
- Tools to support contingency and response planning
FEWS NET is funded by USAID and operates through a network of international, regional and local partners.
