WHO: why is tobacco a public health priority?
Details about the World Health Organisation's Tobacco Free Initiative (TFI), including World No Tobacco Day 2004.TFI's objective is to reduce the global burden of disease and death caused by tobacco, thereby protecting present and future generations from the devastating health, social, environmental and economic consequences of tobacco consumption and exposure to tobacco smoke.
