Buying results? Contracting for health service delivery in developing countries (pdf 75kb)
This article reviews the global experience of contracting non-state organisations, including NGOs, to improve health care delivery.The article studies ten examples of contracted health service delivery around the world, in a range of settings, and assesses their impact.
The findings indicate that contracting for the delivery of primary care can be very effective and that improvements can be rapid.
