Timor-Leste: health sector resilience & performance in a time of instability

This AusAID funded study documents the impact of civil conflict and violence on the health sector in Timor-Leste during April and May 2006 and throughout 2007.

The study highlights the challenges facing the Timorese health sector, but also shows that the health system demonstrated resilience and was able to continue to offer key services to communities.

It offers several recommendations to the Ministry of Health, other national government agencies, NGOs, UN agencies and donors, to strengthen the capacity of the health system in difficult circumstances.
