Delivering effective training
Three Australian Volunteers International (AVI) volunteers share their approaches to delivering effective training in Timor-Leste, Cambodia and the Solomon Islands. These training tips include:
- Take time to understand your participants and their needs.
- Spend as much time planning the delivery as the content.
- Be flexible and creative in how you use resources.
- Play with conventions, but respect cultural limits.
- Build evaluation systems into your training.
