Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The landscape of microinsurance in the world's poorest 100 countries

This report provides an insight into microinsurance and a detailed overview of microinsurance in the world's 100 poorest countries.

The research team attempted to identify and assess as many microinsurers and products as possible. Those identified include:
- Products
- Insurers
- Delivery channels
- Regulations
- Social security schemes
- Donor interventions

The report concludes in saying that microinsurance is growing worldwide, and most of this growth is coming from the private sector and microinsurers are realistically optimistic about the prospects of growth in a huge unserved market.
