Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Aboriginal Rainforest Council Inc: cultural heritage mapping project (pdf 340kb)

This document contains a summary from the Cultural Heritage Information Management workshop to determine the needs of a system which will empower Traditional Owners of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area to manage cultural heritage information.

A brief review of the systems, concepts and issues outlined at the workshop is presented, coupled with recommendations to the Aboriginal Rainforest Council on the technologies that best suit the current and predicted future needs of the ARC and Rainforest Aboriginal groups.

The workshop also involved a presentation and discussion surrounding intellectual property, access to information issues and other concepts relating to cultural heritage information management.
