Guidelines for emergency management in culturally & linguistically diverse communities (pdf 1mb)

This Emergency Management Australia (EMA) manual provides information and guidelines on preparing for and managing an emergency in culturally diverse communities.

The guidelines aim to:
- Increase awareness of the emergency management sector in relation to CALD communities
- Support the emergency management sector to effectively engage with CALD communities
- Share practical strategies for improving access to opportunities for engaging with CALD communities
- Encourage ongoing sustainability of engagement activities

The manual highlights the key point that improved engagement with CALD communities leads to increased risk awareness and resilience. It also leads to inclusiveness, mutual respect, understanding and acceptance.
