Australian Council for International Development (ACFID)
The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) is an independent national association of Australian non-government organisations (NGOs) working in the field of international aid and development. It administers a code of conduct committing members to high standards of integrity and accountability.ACFID's vision is to promote conditions of sustainable human development in which people are able to enjoy a full range of human rights, fulfil their needs free from poverty and live in dignity.
The ACFID secretariat provides information, training and advisory and representation services for members. It manages ACFID's relationships with government and other stakeholders and seeks to influence aid policy and public perceptions about development issues.
