Integrated catchment management: Lake Kutubu, Papua New Guinea (pdf 60kb)

The main objective of this project is to assist the government and local stakeholders to design an integrated catchment management framework for the lake Kutubu catchment. The development of this plan will protect biological diversity and ecological processes while promoting the sustainable management and utilization of natural resources supported by properly implemented catchment management policy.

WWF PNG is the 'implementing agency' (IA) in this project and it has outlined four major outputs;

1. A biological vision and target setting for Lake Kutubu
2. A community vision developed for the management of Lake Kutubu catchment/ecoregion
3. A catchment management forum established for Lake Kutubu for addressing stakeholder interests
4. A catchment management plan established for Lake Kutubu
