Urban street children empowerment and support (pdf 1.5mb)
This report provides an overview of the Urban street children empowerment and support project implemented by Save the Children and USAID in Indonesia. The program was designed to partner with local NGOs to expand, strengthen, and mobilize local responses to address the needs of girls and boys living and working on the street in Surabaya, Bandung, Jakarta and Medan.This report overviews the program's context, design and results. Results include:
- Enhanced capacity of NGOs to deliver assistance to street children
- Increased access to and use of health services by street children
- Special needs of female street children addressed
- Alternatives to the street developed
