Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Partnerships approach for the environmental improvement of the urban poor in SEA (pdf 80kb)

This paper presents cases on how low-income communities in cities in Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand could be improved through various means in partnership and in synergy with different stakeholders.

It then describes partnership arrangements for environmental improvement based on the three cases. The paper concludes with a final section that reiterates the mechanism contributing to the environmental improvement for the urban poor and describes policy implication.
