Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

New partnerships for education: learning from experience (pdf 1.2mb)

This study reviews the literature on education partnerships involving the private sector. It aims to assess the experiences and performance of partnerships in the education sector and highlight lessons for policymakers.

Issues explored in the study include:
- Defining partnerships
- The global context of education and development partnerships
- Partner and stakeholder expectations and opportunities
- Challenges to implementing partnerships
- Principles and tools to support decision making in partnerships

The study concludes by summarising the policy implications and recommendations for how to move forward with future partnerships in the education sector.
