Strategic review of the South Pacific sea level & climate monitoring project (SPSLCMP) (820kb)
This report summarises the aims, activities and outcomes of the South Pacific Sea Level and Climate Monitoring Project funded by AusAID.The aim of the project was to monitor long term changes in sea levels in the South Pacific, and share this information with regional and international stakeholders.
The report discusses a number of issues including:
- Uses and value of the data from the sea level monitoring network;
- How the existing network structure and design can be improved
- Alignment with Pacific region climate monitoring activities
- Future options for the project
- Project conclusions and recommendations
