Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Capacity development and empowerment

Training workshop: managing information using databases

An annual workshop which aims to build the capacities of women and their organisations to utilise new information and communication technologies in social and policy advocacy. Materials are from the Asian Women's Resource Exchange's 2001 WENT (Women Electronic Network Training) training course.

The goals of the "managing information using databases" course included: planning and designing databases; how to write detailed specification; how to support users; and how to promote resource sharing amongst the organisation.
