Information and communication technologies and large-scale poverty reduction (pdf 800kb)
Many small-scale projects have successfully used information and communication technologies (ICTs) to reduce poverty. However, scaling these up so that ICTs can benefit larger numbers of poor people and contribute to achieving the Millennium Development Goals presents a different set of challenges. This publication presents the experiences and lessons of communication for development organisations around the world involved in scaling up their project experiences, working with village communities, NGOs, the private sector, media, governments and UN organisations.
