Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

ICT policy formulation and e-strategy development: a comprehensive guidebook (pdf 1.3mb)

This guidebook is explains the nature of people-focused ICT policy formulation and strategy development. Aimed at decision makers and practitioners within governments and development organizations, it uses examples and practices drawn from the Asia-Pacific to discuss the role of ICT policy-making in human development.

It focuses on the steps required in developing ICT policies, including appropriate e-readiness assessment methodologies, participatory methodologies and planning exercises. It also examines questions that need to be considered in developing an ICT strategy, the sectors that ICT policy-making needs to deal with, and the approaches to ICT action planning.
