Internet infrastructure and e-governance in Pacific Islands countries (pdf 600kb)
This report aims to provide a picture of the development and use of internet infrastructure in the Pacific region, based on an extensive survey conducted in Pacific Island countries.It explores the extent of use of computers, e-mail and the internet in education, culture and communications. It also addresses internet infrastructure issues as well as the use of internet for e-governance.
The report identifies existing barriers that prevent access to the internet as well as to national development plans for the use of the internet in the Pacific region.
The information provided aims to assist donors and government policy makers develop appropriate policy responses to address ICT infrastructure challenges in the region.
