Barriers to adopting ICT and e-commerce with SMEs in developing countries: An exploratory study in Sri Lanka (pdf 90kb)

This paper identifies the barriers to adoption of ICT and e-commerce by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries, based on a study of SMEs in Sri Lanka.

It looks at the specific types of barriers that SMEs face, both internally and externally, and their comparative significance.

The paper also draws some conclusions and recommendations on how SMEs might be supported to improve their adoption of ICTs and e-commerce.
