Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Measuring the impacts of ICT using official statistics (pdf 450kb)

This report measures the social and economic impacts of ICTs using official statistics from around the world.

Using a range of measurement methods, the report highlights the impacts of ICTs in areas such as business, employment, household expenditure, time use, crime, education, health and social capital.

The report also highlights a number of challenges relating to measuring the impacts of ICTs and provides recommendations on how this can be improved in future.
