Gender equality, poverty eradication and aid effectiveness are closely intertwined. National governments worldwide have demonstrated recognition of this relationship by signing international agreements or participating in conventions: the 1979 CEDAW agreement recognised women and girls' rights; the 1995 World Summit for Social Development established a strong link between gender equality and poverty eradication; the 1995 Beijing Platform for Action; and the 2000 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), specifically MDG 3 which focuses on gender equality.

Follow the links below to find ways to collect information and stories from both men and women; develop gender budgets; build leadership, decision-making and planning abilities; and effectively bridge research, policy and practice.
