Step 7: Identify appropriate form of ICT
- Is there an appropriate form of ICT which can be deployed in terms of cost, support, maintenance and compatibility with existing information flows?
- Is it possible to combine several information and communication technologies to deliver the desired cost effective outcome?
For example, it may be important to have a final link which is low cost such as a community radio outlet and radios using renewable energy sources.
- Is equipment locally available to replace parts easily and provide maintenance support?
- Is the use of information and communication technologies compatible with existing information flows shaping how the targeted poor communicate?
