The Least Developed Countries Report, 2007: knowledge, technological learning & innovation for development (pdf 2.5mb)
This report examines how Governments of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and their development partners can promote technological progress to strengthen productive capacities.It covers a range of issues including:
- Why technological learning and innovation matter to LDCs
- Building technological capacities through market linkages
- National policies to support technological progress
- Intellectual property rights and other incentive mechanisms for technological learning
- Addressing the emigration of skilled persons
- Improving knowledge-based aid
The report aims to better inform policy dialogue on the role of technology in lifting productivity, building capacity, and reducing poverty.
