Protecting the future: HIV prevention, care and support among displaced & war-affected populations (pdf 3.9mb)

This field manual outlines a practical, step-wise process for the design and implementation of HIV programs, specifically for health workers who are developing programs for HIV among displaced and war-affected populations.

It outlines how health workers can increase their own team's understanding about HIV and overcome their misconceptions. It describes the various strategies and methods for engaging the community on HIV and conducting a situational analysis.

The manual also provides a comprehensive approach to the management of HIV, with an emphasis on linking prevention to care and support. It presents a number of tools, technical guidelines, references and resources that make it useful not only for humanitarian workers, but for any health professional working on HIV programs in resource-poor settings.
