Global corruption report 2008
The Transparency International Gobal Corruption Report 2008 documents the impact of corruption in the water sector, with case studies from thirty-five countries around the world, including India, Nepal, PNG, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia. It demonstrates that the onset of climate change and the growing stress on water supply around the world make the fight against corruption in water increasingly urgent.
This report clearly shows that the corruption challenge needs to be recognised in the many global policy initiatives for environmental sustainability, development and security that relate to water.
It also presents summaries of corruption-related research and highlights innovative methodologies. It reveals that there are several encouraging initiatives from all over the world that demonstrate success in tackling water corruption.
This report can be downloaded in separate chapters.
