Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Education strategy, policy & financing framework: NAD strategic plan 2007-2011 (pdf 535kb)

The framework details the priorities and plans of the provincial government of Aceh to provide education to its constituents. The government plans to provide all Acehnese with access to high quality education, based on Islamic values.

The key strategies detailed in the framework are to:
- Provide free and accessible primary and secondary learning education
- Rapidly expand early childhood education
- Expand access to non-formal education and literacy programs
- Expand access to higher education in all districts

This is a key document for those working in the education sector in Aceh and could serve as a reference for Islamic education strategies in other Indonesian provinces and other countries in the region.
