The Kavieng Declaration on aid effectiveness, PNG (pdf 410kb)

'The Kavieng Declaration on Aid Effectiveness' is a joint commitment by GoPNG and Development Partners, signed in Kavieng, New Ireland Province, PNG in February 2008.

The Declaration localizes the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005), gives meaning to the principles in the Declaration within PNG and sets monitorable targets and actions to improve aid effectiveness over 2007-2012 and beyond.

The Declaration is aligned to both PNG's Medium Term Development Strategy (MTDS) goals (by 2010), and the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) targets (by 2015). It sets out agreed priority actions to be immediately implemented through a rolling Annual Action Plan process.
