Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Ecological sanitation ( pdf 1.2mb)

This book looks at an approach to sanitation that saves water, does not pollute and returns the nutrients in human excreta to the soil known as 'ecological sanitation'.

It presents the findings of over ten years of research and development in ecological sanitation supported by Sida.

This approach can be used in developed as well as developing countries and aims also at stimulating different actors to include ecological sanitation systems in all their activities in the water and sanitation sector.
