Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Implementing e-Government: report of the regional workshop (pdf 2.4mb)

These are the proceedings of the Regional Workshop on Implementing e-Government, which was held in Bangkok 31 May - 4 June 2004. The workshop was jointly organized by ADBI and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. About 50 government officials and experts attended the workshop.

The objectives of the workshop were to:
- Provide an opportunity to share experiences in implementing e-Government in the participating countries
- Examine issues in implementing e-government
- Draft action plans to improve e-government

Topics included:
- Current trends and issues of implementing e-government
- Integrating government services
- Benefits of and constraints in implementing e-government
- Digital inclusion to reduce poverty
factors and procedures to be considered in improving e-government
- Reinventing (re-engineering) government
e-training of government officials and citizens
conducive environment for e-government, among others
