Champions of participation report (pdf 1.5mb)
This resource pack is the result of discussions involving over 40 people working inside and with local government to increase citizen engagement in local governance.This pack contains a report of a major learning event in 2007, a short paper on policy perspectives and a set of eight case studies from the UK, USA, Nigeria, South Africa and India.
This report and case studies are divided into chapters and are listed on the right hand column of the webpage.
Some of the innovative approaches discussed include: Participatory approaches to budgeting, participatory planning, partnerships, public scrutiny, consultation and inclusion, and participation in service delivery.
