Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Situational analysis & assessment of education for children with disabilities in Bangladesh, South Asia, East Asia & South Africa (pdf 610kb)

The report examines and describes successful case studies and identifies areas and possible interventions for strengthening and promoting inclusive education for disabled children.

The research assessed and analysed the major shortfalls in existing design and implementation process of education programmes for disabled children.

The team focused on assessing the impact of special versus integrated and inclusive education. It found special education is an important compliment to inclusive education to meet the education needs of some percentage of disabled children.
