Supporting youth: broadening the approach to HIV/AIDS prevention programmes (pdf 1mb)

This booklet identifies essential components for successful HIV/AIDS prevention programmes, suggesting that these components should be part of youth and community development, if behaviour and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS prevention are going to change.

It suggests that social circumstances often make it difficult for youth to take precautions and it is these social circumstances that need to change as well. Knowledge is only one component, or part of a number of components that are essential for behaviour change and HIV/AIDS prevention.
