Dry fallow rice paddies make beds of opportunity (pdf 355kb)
This publication looks at the farming potential of Bangladesh's rice paddies during the dry season and how they're being used to grow wheat and chickpeas to raise the prosperity of poor farmer.It addresses the success and challenges of introducing new crops to various areas of Bangladesh. It outlines the 'whole-of-family' approach, dealing with both men and women as well as the needs of children, in helping to develop markets for the new crops.
