Inclusive practice & tools

A number of strategies have been developed on how to facilitate the full inclusion of people with disabilities in all policies and programs.

Community-based rehabilitation is a strategy which facilitates the inclusion of people with disabilities, and provides for rehabilitation at the community level. A complimentary inclusion framework is the "twin-track" approach where people with disabilities are included in mainstream development activities, whilst simultaneously ensuring their specific needs are also being met through specialised services and programs. The links below provide more information on strategies for inclusion and mainstreaming as well as practical guidance on how this can be achieved.
