Organisations & networks
Organisations and networks around disability and development play a central role in advocating for the inclusion of people with disabilities, networking and sharing good principles and practice.Disabled Peoples Organisations (DPOs) have a key role to play in ensuring the voices of people with disabilities are included in policy and practice. These are defined by AusAID as organisations established and run by people with disability that work towards inclusive, barrier-free, socially just, and gender-equitable societies that recognise the human rights, citizenship, contribution and potential of people with disability.
