PNG commitment on aid effectiveness: a joint commitment of principles and actions between the Government of Papua New Guinea & Development Partners (pdf 6.7mb)
This paper outlines the joint commitment between the Government of Papua New Guinea and Development Partners to take specific, monitorable actions to make foreign aid more effective in reducing poverty and inequality, increasing growth, and building the capacity of human resources and institutions, in the work towards the achievement of PNG's Medium Term Development Strategy (MTDS) by 2010 and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.These partnership commitments reflect the ambitions and structure of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and build on the ongoing efforts and experiences of development in Papua New Guinea. Shared principles reflected in these commitments relate to ownership, alignment, harmonisation and simplification, managing for results and mutual accountability.
