Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Workshop, Dhaka, Bangladesh

The purpose of the DRM workshop is to provide practical skills for Humanitarian/Relief practitioners who are involved in the Risk Reduction, Emergency Response and/or Recovery Initiatives in Disaster Risk Management (DRM) situations.
The workshop will look at global best practice in both DRM and the development and implementation of Disaster Risk Management Plans. This training is aimed at governmental, non-government organisation (NGO), Red Cross, UN and other stakeholder personnel. It will draw down on lessons learnt from both Bangladesh (eg the 2007 Cyclone Sidr) and other Asian (eg the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami; 2008 Myanmar Cyclone Nargis) major hazards and disasters.
